On the suggestion of WHO’s Technical Advisory Group on Virus Evolution, WHO recognized the variety B.1.1.529 as a variant of concern, dubbed Omicron, on November 26, 2021. (TAG-VE). The extremely infectious Omicron COVID-19 variant has upended many parts of our lives in a very short time.

Since its discovery, the Omicron virus has spread rapidly over the world, causing multi-country outbreaks. In a single day, the United States and European countries including the United Kingdom, France, and Italy reported a record-breaking number of new COVID-19 cases.

COVID is an airborne droplet virus that can be detected in your nose, mouth, and throat, as we all know. Omicron is exceedingly contagious, and it spreads swiftly! Everyone should be wearing a mask. You’ll also need a qualified and professional air quality monitor in addition to the mask. Coronavirus transmission is aided by aerosols. Aerosol research aids our understanding of how COVID spreads.

There is more suspended particulate matter in the air, which raises the chance of viral infections being transmitted through airborne droplets. The majority of the particles we exhale do not vanish from our body. They stay in the air, and depending on the ventilation system, they can stay there for minutes to hours. PM2.5 refers to fine solid aerosols suspended in ambient air having a particle diameter of 2.5 micrometers or less. When opposed to respiratory liquid droplets, PM2.5 has a substantially longer lifetime in the air where it can be suspended for a lengthy amount of time. This prolonged particle lifespan could result in increased viral exposure, especially in indoor conditions. As a result, during the epidemic, we’ll require an air quality meter.

The PT02 is a Smart air quality monitor and IoT Controller. This multi-functional Air Quality Monitor detects air pollutants such as Carbon Dioxide (CO2), Total Volatile Organic Compounds (TVOC), Particulate Matter less than 2.5, and Particulate Matter less than 1.0 micron-sized particles as well as Temperature, and Humidity level.

Use it to build an IoT Air Pollution Control System and help to maintain a healthy indoor climate for you.
